The 7th Riviera Nayarit Open Water “Nado Seguro” 5-3K Tournament, an open water swimming event, will be held this April 1 at the Riviera Nayarit Marina in La Cruz de Huanacaxtle.

The current edition of this swimming tournament will be more special than ever, as the competition has been included as part of the Global Swim Series, an organization that has a global network of competitions in 26 countries, with more than 38,000 affiliated swimmers holding 80 competitions during the year. The announcement will certainly help this Riviera Nayarit swimming event to be recognized outside the Mexican borders, bringing even more participants.

The event organizer Belin Villasante stated that this achievement has been mainly thanks to the international recognition of the Riviera Nayarit, as well as the tournament’s great connectivity and infrastructure, the increase in participants and other distinctions that have made this sporting event one of Mexico’s most important swimming competitions.

About 700 national and foreign participants are expected to take part in the competition that will be divided in 19 categories ranging from 7 to 70 years of age, spanning different distances and estimated times for each category. The tournament will also include a special category for the disabled, as well as a category for professionals.

All categories will receive trophies and medals for first place winners, the male and female professional categories will also include cash prizes.

The first group of swimmers will start at 7:00am, followed by all the other categories that will be completed approximately at noon. In order for the event to be properly developed, there will be judging in the water and plenty of security for the participants.

The cost for registration is $800 pesos, which includes an official shirt and cap, snacks and hydration at the end of the competition, as well as a participation medal. The deadline to register for the event is March 31, 2017.

“Vallarta Lifestyles has readers from Punta de Mita to Mismaloya and beyond, so announcing my business, means the positioning and recognition of my agency throughout the region. The contents of the magazine are very interesting, because they provide relevant information about activities in the destination. I am pleased to see it at hotels, restaurants and galleries, but what excites me the most is to see people with their issue in hand. That is really relevant for us.”
