The Flamingos Golf Club hosted the VI Flamingos International Can-Am-Mex Riviera Nayarit 2018 Cup last February 17, a golf event where 108 players from Canada, the United States and Mexico spent time together and competed on the golf course.

The Canadian team was crowned champion of this edition of the Flamingos Cup. Canada has won this cup for the fourth time, as they had already won in 2013, 2014 and 2016. Mexico won in 2015 and 2017, whereas the United States has not been able to win so far.

It is a friendly competition, with all amateur men and women categories, where the purpose is to promote friendship and intercultural exchange among players of different nationalities. This amateur golf tournament has already become a tourist attraction and a sporting reference that has contributed to the consolidation of Riviera Nayarit as world-class golf destination.

The game took place during a  18-hole round, divided into two nines. The first 9 holes were played in the Scramble format and the rest on Best Score. The teams competed in couples.

In the first format, the winning team was Mexico, with 22 points, although after the Best Score final results were tallied, Canada obtained the first place with 41.5 points. Mexico placed second with 34 points and the United States finished in the third place, with 33.5 points.

The golf tournament in Riviera Nayarit ended with a great atmosphere, where golf-enthusiasts enjoyed great food and an award ceremony where more than 100 gifts and courtesies were raffled off by the sponsors.

“Vallarta Lifestyles, from its inception has been a quality reference. In some way, it has managed to consolidate the destination because all our restaurants where there and we communicate as an exchange platform. The benefit, besides advertisement and recommendation, is that this publication is a solid copy of Puerto Vallarta’s evolution. If you pick up an old issue, immediately you’ll recall precious memories.”

“Vallarta Lifestyles has readers from Punta de Mita to Mismaloya and beyond, so announcing my business, means the positioning and recognition of my agency throughout the region. The contents of the magazine are very interesting, because they provide relevant information about activities in the destination. I am pleased to see it at hotels, restaurants and galleries, but what excites me the most is to see people with their issue in hand. That is really relevant for us.”
