News Submission Guidelines: Some Do’s

Thank you for your interest in’s news. We endeavor to publish as many news items as we receive in our News section, although we cannot guarantee that we can or will get to every single one. Here are some suggestions on how to maximize the impact of your news items and the likelihood that they will be published in

DO send a well-written press release in English, whenever possible. A well-written news release makes it easier for us to get to your information quickly and efficiently. And if it is in Spanish, a well-written news release is easier to translate.

DO attach relevant photographs in JPG format, as our content management system is designed to produce articles that include both text and images. They do not need to be in high resolution. But a good photograph that helps tell the story and is at least 800 pixels wide at 72 dpi is always useful.

DO include a landing page (in your website and/or a Facebook event, for example) if you are publicizing an event. This way, readers will be able to click and find detailed/updated information.

DO keep in mind that our News section is re-purposed into a weekly email newsletter that is sent out to our mailing list every Thursday morning, free of charge. We update our news section on a regular basis throughout the week. However, If you would like your news item to be considered for any given week’s newsletter, we must receive it by Wednesday 10 am at the latest. DO copy your Customer Service Manager if you are a Vallarta Lifestyles Publishing Group client. This will ensure that all of us will be on the same page, and will find the best vehicle for your news.

DO follow-up your email message with a courtesy telephone call to the Editorial Department at (322) 221-0106. As much as we’d like to think we have control over many things, one thing we don’t control is the Internet, and sometimes email messages do not reach their destination.

DO send your news item on a timely fashion if it is related to an event with a specific time and date. We cannot guarantee that we will be able to publish a news item for an event with less than 48 hours of notice.

DO invite us to your press events, but please keep in mind that we cannot guarantee attendance, specially if we receive notice for an event with less than 48 hours of notice.

DO send us your newsletter if you have one. We love to receive news about you. But please keep in mind that a newsletter is NOT a press release. As such, it’s less likely that we will publish content from it.

DO send us your JPG notices and flyers. We love to see how different graphic designers in town are showcasing their talent. But please keep in mind that a JPG image with information is NOT a press release. As such, it’s less likely that we will publish content from it if you do not complement it with a press release and photos.

DO consider visiting our offices and taking the official “Vallarta Lifestyles Publishing Group Editorial Tour” during which you will meet with a member of our Editorial Department, who will share information about all of our publications, and the best strategies to be published in any of them. This is a service offered by our Editorial Department to anyone interested in our publications.
