The current print edition of Vallarta Lifestyles (January – March 2021) features a special article focusing on telling part of the Puerto Vallarta’s urban art history, as well as offering a review of the diversity of works and artists who converge in this Mexican Pacific destination.

Recently, this cultural scene has been joined by “La Diva del Futuro” (The Diva of the Future), an impressive artwork that now adorns the Tower of the Café des Artistes restaurant on the occasion of the celebration of its 30th anniversary.

During the event presentation, Antonio Collantes, artist of this mural, said: “This diva, as the history of art, is made of many pieces. Art is not just an artist, but a conjunction of the knowledge of humanity that is composed of many parts of the world. I am the result of many people who have passed through my life, I am a small piece of all of them. My work is inspired by Mexican divas like Dolores del Río and/or María Félix. For me, the concept of diva has to do with how we construct ourselves as beings.”

“La Diva del Futuro” is a hyper-modernist artwork that was made with aerosol and now is a new Instagram-worthy spot in Puerto Vallarta.
