Puerto Vallarta Will Be Present at La Folkloriada Mundial in Russia
From July 3rd to 10th, 2021, Russia will host the 2021 Folkloriada Mundial, a world folkloric event organized by the Concejo Internacional de Organizaciones de Festivales Folklóricos (International Council of Folk Festivals Organizations) (CIOFF), which depends directly on the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO).
In this international event, our destination will be represented by the Grupo Folclórico Vallarta Azteca of CECyTE Jalisco, which is directed by Juan Antonio Salcedo, who belongs to CIOFF México.
“I am so proud my group is the representative of both Mexico and Puerto Vallarta in this event that will take place in Russia. Our group is made up of 37 talented people, including musicians, dancers and directors from this area of the Banderas Bay,” said Salcedo.
The Grupo Folclórico Vallarta Azteca si preparing a special program with traditional dances from Hidalgo, Nayarit and Jalisco states, which will be accompanied by mariachi music.
Specifically, the Republic of Bashkortostan will host this event, which will receive more than 2,500 participants, including dancers, musicians and artisans from more than 60 countries.
Ufa, Republic of Bashkortostan capital, is the city where the inauguration will take place, including a parade of delegations and an artistic presentation from all continents.
The first Folkloriada Mundial was held in Netherlands in 1996. After that, Japan, Hungary, China, Republic of Korea and Mexico were the organizers of this event.
