Book Presentation: “La Palapa: A Taste of Paradise”
Yesterday evening, Puerto Vallarta’s renowned La Palapa restaurant exuded elegance and nostalgia as it hosted the book launch: “La Palapa: A Taste of Paradise.” The event brought together members of the Pérez family, owners of this restaurant with a 64-year history in our destination.
The author of the book, Diego Arrazola, along with the dedication and efforts of Mrs. Renée Pérez, wife of Mr. Alberto Pérez, the owners of the restaurant, breathed life into this work that contributes to the local culture.
Working with the restaurant’s staff, Richie Pérez, marketing director of La Palapa, was responsible for the photography to capture the essence of this iconic Puerto Vallarta culinary destination.
“La Palapa: A Taste of Paradise” is a labor of love and collaboration that involved the entire Pérez family, from uncles and cousins to children and nieces, as well as customers, employees and managers who have been a part of the restaurant’s history since its founding in 1959.
This book is a treasure that interweaves the nostalgia of 1960s Puerto Vallarta photographs, the evolution of La Palapa’s facilities, and the classic recipes that have delighted generations of diners. It serves as a visual and culinary testament to an authentic paradise that continues to captivate residents and visitors alike.
