Dorada Beach: To Go for a Run and Exercise

Although its name is not in common use, the beach that borders Puerto Vallarta’s Malecón is called Dorada Beach, a favorite among residents and visitors for going out to exercise in the morning, just before starting the day’s activities.

With moderate waves, it is rarely used for swimming. Rather, on this nearly mile-long stretch, runners will find different motivations to go back and forth until they meet their training goals. On the one hand, the Malecón is practically an outdoor art gallery, as numerous large-scale sculptures are found on it. In addition, it is the most popular site in El Centro, so it leads to some other points of interest where you can continue with more strenuous exercise (as is the case with the stairs that lead to the Mirador de La Cruz or Gringo Gulch and its narrow cobblestone streets on the hill).

For the more experienced, a challenging run on the sand of this beach will have as its subtle companion the refreshing sea breeze, as well as the call of the birds that fly over the nearby schools of fish and the crashing of the waves that will inspire you to keep going—an original and healthy way to start and/or end the day in our destination.

Due to its location, Dorada Beach has practically all services nearby, so your only concern should be focusing on surpassing your previous training records.
