Essentials of Our Destination: The Art and Culture of San Pancho
To enrich a visit to Vallarta · Nayarit, it is essential to make a stop in San Francisco, affectionately called San Pancho, a micro-destination in Riviera Nayarit where there are various community and private projects with different focuses: art, culture, social assistance, protection and rescue of animals, promotion of ecology and sustainability, bio-construction and permaculture, as well as training and/or educational programs that are carried out in area schools.
Thus, for more than 10 years, there have been community organizations such as Entreamigos, Circo de los Niños, Alianza Jaguar and Colectivo San Pancho, among others. Each of them is important because they are intrinsically linked to community well-being from a unique and necessary angle. The best news is that they all offer residents and visitors the opportunity to get involved in their volunteer activities.
Plaza del Sol is the town’s main square. In addition to serving as a meeting point where a great mix of cultures gathers, various local festivities are presented here throughout the year, as well as a growing list of international art and music festivals.
Thanks to the efforts of its residents and with all these attributes together, San Pancho is considered The Cultural Capital of Riviera Nayarit.
