Silk Moon Martini from Archie’s Wok
Archie’s Wok has enriched Puerto Vallarta’s gastronomic scene since 1986, with fusion cuisine that combines the culinary legacies of various Asian countries. The restaurant was established by Filipino chef Archie, who arrived in Banderas Bay with his wife, Cyndi, and their children in the 1970s. Later, he became the chef of famous film director John Huston at his beach retreat, Caletas.
Despite Archie’s death in 1993, the flavors of his dishes continue to delight diners’ palates at the establishment located just a few feet from the Los Muertos Pier, on Francisca Rodríguez street in Puerto Vallarta’s Romantic Zone.
To start your experience here, you can accompany any appetizer on the menu with a delicious Silk Moon Martini. This cocktail contains sake, a traditional Japanese drink made from fermented rice. It also includes Bombay Sapphire gin, Ketel One vodka, fresh ginger, lemon juice, lychee and a twist of lemon. Without a doubt, it is one of the most elegant cocktails on the menu, and you should try it at least once.
“This is one of our customers’ favorite cocktails. It is made with sake, and the moon that floats in the cocktail is made of lychee, a fantastic tropical fruit,” said Cyndi Alpenia, owner of Archie’s Wok.
A good idea is to ask for this drink while you enjoy the three-course menu during the last days of Restaurant Week.
