It really is enough to go for a walk through the Vallarta · Nayarit streets or go a bit among nature to appreciate one of the icons of our destination has: the Queen Iguana or Green Iguana.

Although its natural color is green and its tail may have black stripes, when they are in their reproductive stage, orange tones can be seen throughout their body.

Their scientific name is Iguana iguana and they can be up to six feet long. This beautiful animal can be found and admire from central Mexico to Argentina.

In Vallarta · Nayarit there are a couple of urban spots where you can see these reptiles in all their splendor: Isla del Río Cuale in Puerto Vallarta and El Árbol de la Iguana (The Iguana Tree) in Sayulita, Riviera Nayarit.
