267,000 Cruise Passengers Visit Puerto Vallarta During the First 5 Months of 2024
According to the National Port System Administration (ASIPONA), from January to May 2024, our destination received 90 cruise ships, carrying 267,000 cruise passengers on board.
This achievement is the result of the strengthened commercial relationships established by the Jalisco Tourism Department (SECTURJAL), through the Puerto Vallarta Tourism Board, with various international cruise lines.
In addition, our destination’s prominent presence at Seatrade Cruise Global 2024, held last April, was crucial in consolidating Puerto Vallarta’s leadership in the cruise industry in Mexico.
Cruise lines that frequently visit Puerto Vallarta include Princess Cruises, Carnival, Royal Caribbean, Vidanta Cruises, Windstar Cruises, Disney Cruise Line, Celebrity X Cruises, Holland America Line, Oceania Cruises, Viking River Cruises, and Norwegian Cruise Line.
The port’s infrastructure, with three docking positions that allow for the simultaneous servicing of three large cruise ships, is another key factor in this success. The Riviera Mexican route, which includes Cabo San Lucas and Mazatlán, is mainly traveled by cruise passengers from the U.S. ports of Los Angeles, Long Beach, and San Diego, attracting tourists from various parts of the world.
