Vallarta Yacht Club sponsored the 6th Taste of Nuevo and the 18th Chili Cook-Off, events that took place last Saturday, December 1st, 2018 at the Nuevo Vallarta malecon and netted $90,000 pesos which will be equally divided between the Navy League’s “Toys for Tots” program, the International Friendship Club’s “Cleft Palate” program, and to the Nayarit Hurricane Victims relief effort.

Starting at 4:00pm, more than 25 restaurants, local business and volunteers were set up with a wide variety of delicious food, chili and home baked goods. In the restaurant, non-chili category, Eddie’s Place wowed the crowd with their Coconut Jumbo Shrimp and other beautifully prepared dishes to take the first place. Maizul, a new restaurant on the Nuevo Vallarta scene, take the second place.

The best commercial restaurant in the chili cook-off competition was Wine & Burger and the second place was for Estudio Café.

In the individual chili category, couples Li and Andy Barrow, Yoshei and Larry Butts, as well as Ana and Eric Bloomquist combined their efforts and took home first place. Second place in the individual category went to the folks from the international charitable sorority Beta Sigma Phi Nuevo Chapter in Nuevo Vallarta.

Vallarta Yacht Club thanks to all the restaurants who participated, to the local women of Nuevo Vallarta for a wonderful sale of homemade sweets, to the Conventions and Visitors Bureau of Riviera Nayarit for the publicity and music, and to all those who offered their time to create a couple of successful events.

“One of the biggest benefits of advertising in Vallarta Lifestyles is that a lot of readers keep it as a bible. People have arrived to our gallery looking for the pieces that are in the advertisements published 5 or 6 years ago, and that’s really valuable for us. Besides being an excellent magazine where is possible to find the newest in the destination, it is a publication dedicated to the public we want to reach and keep.”

“Advertising in Vallarta Lifestyles has been one of the best decisions we have made for the benefit of our business, because it has always helped us reach our prospects accurately. The magazine’s distribution throughout the destination is unique and strategic, as it reaches readers who are the type of clients we are looking for.”

“Vallarta Lifestyles is really well positioned. We are aware of that because we have seen people who arrive to our jewelry with the issue or the advertising in hand asking about the product that is featured there. This dynamic is really interesting for us and makes us glad.”
