Centro STEM+ Bahía de Banderas Inaugurated
Thanks to the generous support of visionary parents, as well as of Península Residence, the American School of Puerto Vallarta has inaugurated the first phase of the Centro STEM+ Bahía de Banderas (STEM+ Center of Banderas Bay).
The Centro STEM+ (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) is a program based on the idea of educating students in these four disciplines to spark their motivation to build, invent, solve, experiment and undertake, all in a conducive, interactive, participatory and interdisciplinary environment.
The first phase of this center features a wet laboratory (suitable for working with heat, chemicals and dissections) and dry one (ideal for collaborative work), as well as a preparation area.
In addition to contemplating more classrooms with modern facilities and the use of high-tech materials, the Centro STEM+ Bahía de Banderas will gradually welcome public schools and community service groups to be able to academically impact more than 1,000 students of the region per year.
During the opening ceremony, in addition to the parents who made this project possible thanks to their generous donations, Lisa Langley, general director of the American School; Rebecca Scotti, member of the Board of Directors of American School and Carlos De la Rosa, representative of Península Residence (a renowned real estate group with national presence), were present.
