First Sope Festival in San Pancho Announced
With the intention of paying tribute to this traditional dish of the Mexican cuisine, on December 21st and 22nd, 2021, the First Sope Festival will take place in San Pancho, Nayarit.
The restaurant that organizes and will host this gastronomic event is Su Pancha Madre (América Latina S/N), a cozy place whose specialty is precisely gourmet sopes.
“In the beginning, what motivated us to create this festival was to generate something different with the concept we have. At the same time, we would like to take the opportunity to offer a pairing experience with both our craft beers—brown ale and blonde ale—as well as craft wines—white and red—”, says Mao Calderón, chef-owner of Su Pancha Madre.
The First Sope Festival will feature five chefs as special guests, who will use their skills to create unique and original recipes to offer special sopes to the attendants.
Participating Chefs:
Víctor Rouède (France), from Les P’tits Zazous restaurant; Víctor Rodríguez (Mexico), from Su Pancha Madre restaurant; Mario Mendoza (Mexico), from IKAN restaurant; Carlos Thistle Walker (Mexico), from LIMBO restaurant and David Ibañez (Mexico), from Su Pancha Madre restaurant.
“This festival fuses the creativity of modern cuisine with a traditionally Mexican dish. In addition, as a plus, we will present a foreign chef that will offer his own version of this emblematic specialty”, adds Calderón.
