A couple of weeks ago the local music group Gypsy Rumba offered a special concert at Los Arroyos Verdes hotel in Bucerías—a small town located north of Puerto Vallarta—, which was attended by approximately 300 people. During the event, attendees enjoyed a lively ambiance and the original songs of the new album of the ensemble, which was named “Gypsy Rumba” and fuses gypsy music and flamenco, as well as a variety of Latin rhythms. This CD release party also featured circus acts, belly dance and flamenco performances.

Gypsy Rumba features the talent of guitarist and composer Cheko Ruiz, percussionist Alex González, guitarist Alberto Ramírez, violinist Eugenia Prieto and bass guitarist Emmanuel de la Rosa.

“It was a wonderful night. We wanted to present our new album to the foreign community that spends the winter here in Vallarta and Riviera Nayarit and they really enjoyed the show. We had old friends and people who has supported us since we formed the group but also new people,” Cheko said.

Gypsy Rumba also announced dates for the last shows of their season at The Palm Cabaret & Bar in colonia Emiliano Zapata, scheduled Sunday, March 12 and 26. Besides the songs from their new album, the show features covers and original music.

Cheko Ruiz noted that after the winter season the music group expects to perform in important national art festivals such as the Festival de las Artes (FESTA) and other venues. Follow Gypsy Rumba on Facebook or visit www.gypsyrumba.com for more information about upcoming dates.

“Sabor a miel”, the first single from this new CD, is now available on iTunes and Spotify.

“Vallarta Lifestyles has readers from Punta de Mita to Mismaloya and beyond, so announcing my business, means the positioning and recognition of my agency throughout the region. The contents of the magazine are very interesting, because they provide relevant information about activities in the destination. I am pleased to see it at hotels, restaurants and galleries, but what excites me the most is to see people with their issue in hand. That is really relevant for us.”

“There are lots of reasons why we have advertised in Vallarta Lifestyles for several years. One of them is that they know pretty well their target, because they know who are their readers and they adapt as much as possible the content and material that is offered. For these reasons they have a growing number of readers which is very important for us. Another reason is that many people  —including us— think that the magazine has been as a serious publication since its beginnings. Historically, Vallarta Lifestyles has known how to capture the audience and has done it pretty well."

“We have been advertising in Vallarta Lifestyles since the opening of our restaurant, and since then, we have kept a strong relationship. Due to its scope and distribution, the campaigns that we advertised regarding our different culinary projects have always been a success. This magazine has been consolidated as a benchmark that promotes the beauty of our destination in a creative and effective way.”
