Hotel Cielo Rojo in San Pancho, Riviera Nayarit, is now one of the exclusive properties represented by Mexico Boutique Hotels, a curated hotel collection for the discerning traveller. After a five-year certification process, the hotel received its plaque thanks to its high standards and quality service.

In order to become a member of this select group, which boasts over 16 years in the industry, the resort had to tailor its criteria to fit the philosophy of the exclusive brand, namely to provide unique services and experiences in hotels with no more than 100 rooms.

Hotel Cielo Rojo’s exceptional architectural details and distinctive design were created thanks to owner Mara Gisela Maraz’s extensive travel throughout Mexico, during which she gathered a remarkable collection of items that decorate every give the hotel its distinctive surf chic identity.

“The property has a strong commitment with the environment and our community, which is why we don’t use any harmful chemical products,” explained Arturo Vargas Torres, the hotel’s General Manager. “We’ve been generating compost for the past two years and we don’t use chemicals to clean the bathrooms, in the drains or in the grease traps.”

Another important highlight is the productive relationship Hotel Cielo Rojo has with Entre Amigos Community Center, with which they work hand in hand on diverse projects including recycling. For example, the hotel is currently using glassware created by Entre Amigos by recycling glass bottles.

Hotel Cielo Rojo’s restaurant, Bistro Organico, is organic, meaning 80% of the products are locally sourced, guaranteeing the quality of the product and the absence of pesticides. This use of local products also helps stimulate the area’s economy.

“Vallarta Lifestyles, from its inception has been a quality reference. In some way, it has managed to consolidate the destination because all our restaurants where there and we communicate as an exchange platform. The benefit, besides advertisement and recommendation, is that this publication is a solid copy of Puerto Vallarta’s evolution. If you pick up an old issue, immediately you’ll recall precious memories.”

“We have been clients of Vallarta Lifestyles since 1999, the year in which we arrived to this destination. Back then, it was the only publication where you could really do local marketing. These days, in spite of the arrival of new technologies, we keep advertising, because it is a really important complement for our marketing strategy.”
