Mexican and Italian Wines Will Be Guests of Honor at the Wine Fest Jalisco + Nayarit 2017
The 2017 edition of the Wine Fest Jalisco + Nayarit will be held from March 1 – 5 at ten restaurants and five hotels in the Puerto Vallarta and Riviera Nayarit area. This year, the festival includes two master lectures, tastings, the Wine Expo and the traditional Verbena Popular (popular festivity).
The participating restaurants are La Dolce Vita, La Leche, Portobello, La Terrazza Di Roma and Le Kliff in Puerto Vallarta; Portobello Bistro & Lounge and La Dolce Vita in Nuevo Vallarta; Frascati in La Cruz de Huanacaxtle and Don Pedro’s in Sayulita.
Joining the list are also the restaurants Andrea (Velas Vallarta Hotel), Emiliano (Casa Velas Hotel), Luca (Grand Velas Nuevo Vallarta), Vid a Vid (Vidanta) and Hotel Grand Fiesta Americana.
During the opening celebration at the Casa Velas Hotel on March 1, there will be a special Wine Tasting in the successful project Dinner in the Sky.
Master Lectures
Open to the public
Two master lectures will be held on March 2nd and 3rd: “The History and Antinori Wines in today’s world” by Allegra Antinori—guest of honor and a member of the Antinori family, which is one of the most important wine suppliers in the world—and “The Wines of México and their current consumption” at the Friendly Vallarta Hotel.
Wine Expo
On Saturday, March 4, the Wine Expo will take place at the Velas Vallarta Hotel from 1:00pm – 5:00pm. It will feature tastings and sale of the best Mexican and Italian wines at fixed prices, as well as tastings of cheeses, snacks and charcuterie.
Special prices for hotels and restaurants will be offered from 1:00pm – 300pm.
The event will be open to the public from 3:00pm – 5:00pm. Cost of tasting $200 MXN.
Verbena popular
On Sunday, March 5, the Verbena Popular (popular festivity) will be held at Plaza Lázaro Cárdenas in colonia Emiliano Zapata from 6:00pm – 9:00 pm. This activity will feature tastings and sale of wines and some dishes of the participating restaurants at fixed prices.
