Presenting the International Film Festival in PV
The program for the 2023 Puerto Vallarta International Film Festival (FICPV), which will be held from June 8th to 11th in different venues around our destination, was presented.
Organized by the Centro Universitario de la Costa (CUCosta), the FICPV is an extension of the Guadalajara International Film Festival, organized by the Universidad de Guadalajara (UdeG).
La Pecera (2023), directed by Glorimar Marrero-Sánchez, will be the opening film of this year’s edition. The film La Mujer de Benjamín (1991) will also be screened, as well as Redes: Juegos de la Vida (2023), with the presence of its director César Aréchiga. There will also be a tribute to the actress Arcelia Ramírez, who will receive the Iguana Dorada, the event’s highest award.
The closing ceremony of this edition will feature the film Martínez (2023), with the presence of director Lorena Padilla and actress Martha Claudia Moreno.
The FICPV, in collaboration with the Fundación Universidad de Guadalajara A.C., announces that a gala will be held to benefit the Centro Cultural Biblioteca Los Mangos, with the aim of showing solidarity with civil organizations and offering an alternative way of raising funds through a total donation at the box office. The film will be Almamula (2023), with the presence of its director, Juan Sebastián Torales.
On the other hand, the film Kenya (2022) will come to Puerto Vallarta as part of the tenth edition of the Premio Maguey, where director Gisela Delgadillo will be the special guest. There will also be a screening of El Castillo (2023), with the presence of its director Martín Benchimol.
As part of this event, the 3rd edition of El Mar en Corto will be held, a space where the talent of Vallarta will have the opportunity to express their ideas in a creative way through the seventh art.
