This weekend, Puerto Vallarta is proudly celebrating a highly significant date in its history: May 31st marks 107 years since it was declared a municipality and 57 years since it officially received its designation as a city.

A central part of these festivities, an unprecedented air show will take place this Saturday, May 31st, at 3:00pm, near El Caballito, the iconic sculpture located on the Malecón. For the first time in Puerto Vallarta’s history, this event will feature the participation of acrobatic aircraft and paratroopers from the Mexican Air Force.

The maneuvers will be performed by the “Águilas Aztecas” and “Guerreros Águila” squadrons, who are already in Vallarta territory finalizing the last details of what promises to be an unforgettable spectacle. The aerial acrobatics and parachute jumps performed during the presentation will not only pay homage to the city’s history but will also mark a before and after in Puerto Vallarta’s public celebrations.

This milestone gains even more relevance considering the constant growth and recognition that Puerto Vallarta has experienced in recent decades. From a peaceful fishing village to a cosmopolitan destination with a rich cultural, gastronomic, and tourism scene, the city has managed to preserve its essence while continuously looking towards the future.

The invitation is open to residents, visitors, families, and anyone enthusiastic about witnessing this grand event.

In addition to the air show, various cultural and commemorative activities are planned to take place throughout the city during the weekend, reaffirming Puerto Vallarta’s commitment to its roots and its community.

Happy anniversary, Puerto Vallarta!
