Puerto Vallarta Will Host Popular Referendum on Mayor Arturo Dávalos
This coming Sunday, August 27, the citizens of Puerto Vallarta will have the opportunity to decide if the mayor, Arturo Dávalos Peña, will continue on as the head of the municipal government through a process called Ratificación de Mandato (a sort of popular referendum). 104 voting centers will be installed at different locations throughout the city, where local adults may exercise their right to vote from 8:00am – 6:00pm. Elector’s credential (official ID) is required.
The Ratificación de Mandato is a democratic exercise that only takes place at municipalities of Jalisco state under the government of the political party Movimiento Ciudadano.
