Punta de Mita: Relaxation and Exclusivity
At the northern end of Banderas Bay, Punta de Mita is a small town that stands out for its beautiful beaches, friendly people, gastronomy, from traditional to gourmet, and quiet, picturesque streets featuring establishments that range between typical and high-end.
To Start
Once in Punta de Mita, you’ll notice that this micro-destination also includes the villages Emiliano Zapata, Corral del Risco and El Anclote, whose simplicity contrasts with Punta Mita, the ultra-luxury residential community that is home to the exclusive Four Seasons and St. Regis hotels, with their diversity of attractions that can be accessed by prior reservation (such as golf courses, tennis courts and spas).
Beaches
El Anclote beach is one of Punta de Mita’s most visited, ideal for watersports or mooring the yacht off the coast. Due to the area’s geographical characteristics, there are several other beaches worth visiting in the vicinity, among them Destiladeras and La Lancha, true paradises for surfing enthusiasts. However, Palito Verde deserves special mention. This Eden offers crystalline waters framed by rock formations on the sides that make it a cozy and secluded spot, excellent for spending the day as a couple.
With crystal-clear waters and white sands, the Marietas Islands are an ecological reserve protecting abundant marine life and a diversity of birds. Within it is the famous Playa Escondida or Playa del Amor, with limited, previously booked access available only through a certified tour operator.
Dining
If you are a foodie, some of the best cuisine in the entire destination is offered within the Punta Mita development. Here, you can enjoy dishes prepared by internationally acclaimed chefs, with spectacular presentations consistent with the attractive first-class facilities.
Shopping
On Punta de Mita’s main streets you will find Mexican handicraft shops, establishments with interesting home decor items, jewelry that mixes precious stones with metals and natural elements, as well as exclusive clothing and accessory boutiques headed by internationally recognized designers.
Nightlife
In Punta de Mita the nightlife can be as simple or as exclusive as you wish, as you can choose between exploring the local fare or savoring the exquisite cuisine offered by the various exclusive restaurants featuring specialties from around the world.
Whether you are a foodie, a nature lover or a visitor looking to socialize, Punta de Mita is a micro-destination well worth including during your visit to our destination.
