PV International Airport Modernizes its Immigration Access
Puerto Vallarta International Airport has taken a significant step towards modernizing its infrastructure with the implementation of 10 digital access modules. This system of Filtros Migratorios Autónomos (FMA) (Autonomous Immigration Filters) allows foreign visitors to enter the country in a faster, safer, and more efficient way.
With this new technology, passengers can now complete their immigration process in just 35 seconds by scanning their electronic passports and using facial recognition to verify their identity. This advancement not only reduces wait times but also ensures a much smoother and more comfortable experience.
Currently, Puerto Vallarta International Airport is the fourth terminal in Mexico to incorporate these autonomous immigration filters. In addition to streamlining the entry process, these modules are designed to ensure the safety of travelers.
It is important to note that this service is exclusively for visitors with electronic passports valid for more than 180 days and who are not traveling with minors. Those with permanent or temporary residence cards must continue using the traditional immigration process.
The following steps outline the process for using these autonomous immigration filters:
- Locate the designated module and have your passport ready.
- Open your passport to the page containing your photo and general information.
- Scan your passport in the reader. Stand within the designated yellow circle, where facial recognition will occur.
A series of validations on your biographical, biometric, and flight information will then take place. Once the process is successfully completed, a QR code and digital stamp will be issued, which you should keep and use before your return journey home.
With this enhancement, Puerto Vallarta reaffirms its commitment to offering an innovative travel experience, tailored to the expectations of the modern traveler who values both efficiency and safety.
