In terms of tourism, Puerto Vallarta has reached unprecedented levels in the first quarter of 2023. Our destination has set historic records for hotel occupancy, passenger arrivals at the Puerto Vallarta International Airport and cruise ship arrivals at the National Port System Administration of Puerto Vallarta.

Thus, during the first quarter of 2023, Puerto Vallarta hotels recorded an average occupancy rate of 83.6 percent, an increase of 10.9 percent over the same period in 2022, when 72.7 percent was recorded.

At the same time, Puerto Vallarta International Airport has seen a steady flow of passengers arriving to enjoy the wonders of this tourist destination. From January to March 2023, 652,077 passengers were recorded, an increase of 29% over the same period in 2022, when 505,536 passengers were recorded.

Similarly, the National Port System Administration of Puerto Vallarta has received 221,593 cruise passengers in the first quarter of 2023, an impressive 113.8 percent increase over the same period in 2022, when 103,644 cruise passengers were registered.

In relation to this, 72 cruise ship arrivals were registered from January to March 2023, an increase of 28.6 percent compared to the same period in 2022, when 56 ships were registered.

With a promising outlook for tourism in Puerto Vallarta, hotel occupancy levels are expected to remain high for the remainder of the year, along with a steady influx of air and sea passengers.

The combination of natural beauty, vibrant culture and warm hospitality continue to make Puerto Vallarta one of the most popular destinations in Mexico and the world.
