Riviera Nayarit: Magic that Goes Beyond the Myth

There is a common misconception that makes this destination even more surprising: it’s said that the blue-footed bobby can only be found at the Galapagos Islands. However, nothing could be further from the truth: The Marietas Islands in Riviera Nayarit are also home to this and many exotic species, both terrestrial and maritime, that’ll make your visit an unforgettable experience.

Located in the northern end of Bahia de Banderas, close to the exclusive zone of Punta Mita, the Marietas Islands are comprised of an archipelago with four formations: two islands and two islets that constitute one of the Biosphere Reserves protected by the UNESCO.

During the winter, one can enjoy the display of watching humpback whales that arrive to Riviera Nayarit. During the summer, this route to the islands is the perfect excuse to come across one of the thousands of Olive Ridley turtles that lay their eggs on the beaches of our destination. Both experiences are worth spending a morning traveling to then enjoy basking in the sun.

There is one consideration, though: since the Marietas Islands are part of a Biosphere Reserve program, activity here is regulated and one can hardly explore them. This helps protect and preserve the habitat of countless species that have made their home there.

However, activities around the islands are sheer pleasure. Bird-watching from the boat will allow passengers to see the blue-footed bobby, and snorkeling in the nearby reefs will allow them to photograph and swim among giant rays, dolphins, turtles and an infinity of colorful fish.

The Marietas Islands are a reason to visit Riviera Nayarit, a destination where luxury blends in with nature and the magic of its landscapes becomes an adventure.

"Since we started the company we have advertised in Vallarta Lifestyles, a publication that is considered ‘Puerto Vallarta’s Magazine’ by the quality of its images, content and staff, unique characteristics that encouraged us to say: ‘We have to be in Vallarta Lifestyles’. We know that this magazine is a reference for the target market that we are looking for and we know that being there gives us prestige.”

“There are lots of reasons why we have advertised in Vallarta Lifestyles for several years. One of them is that they know pretty well their target, because they know who are their readers and they adapt as much as possible the content and material that is offered. For these reasons they have a growing number of readers which is very important for us. Another reason is that many people  —including us— think that the magazine has been as a serious publication since its beginnings. Historically, Vallarta Lifestyles has known how to capture the audience and has done it pretty well."

“We have been clients of Vallarta Lifestyles since 1999, the year in which we arrived to this destination. Back then, it was the only publication where you could really do local marketing. These days, in spite of the arrival of new technologies, we keep advertising, because it is a really important complement for our marketing strategy.”
