Ruta Mushi Inaugurated in Puerto Vallarta
Last Friday, June 2nd, 2023, the Asociación Civil Museo de Historia Puerto Vallarta held the inauguration of Ruta Mushi, a bus adapted for travelling exhibitions, which is currently parked in Parque Hidalgo.
It was in March 2021 that the creation of a formal museum in our destination was officially announced. At that time, it was mentioned that it would be located in a house in El Centro of Puerto Vallarta, but after several fundraising campaigns, unfortunately the amount to purchase the property could not be completed. Now, after analyzing several ideas, the funds raised over the past few years have been earmarked for the purchase and refurbishment of this bus.
Commenting on this new phase, the president of the organization, Karla Moreno, said: “Our goal is to bring history closer to the people of Vallarta in different parts of the city, where more people, institutions and businesses see the importance of a museum, so that we can then achieve the goal of creating an appropriate space for it.”
Painters Ada Colorina and Marcela Lepe were responsible for decorating the outside of the bus.
The plan is to set up a board of trustees to run the mobile museum, which she observes as a seed that will keep the idea of having a building to house the museum in Puerto Vallarta alive.
The Ruta Mushi bus is located in the Parque Hidalgo and can be visited from Tuesday to Sunday from 9:00am to 9:00pm. There is a donation of 20 MXN per person and 10 MXN for children, students and senior citizens.
