Savia, a New World Created by Vallarta Adventures
According to the Aztec Legend of the Five Suns, five civilizations preceded ours. Each one of them had their flourishing period and fall. These were ancient worlds that were destroyed by the strength of weather events: fires, tornadoes and floods. However, rituals and sacrifices undertook by their people helped to keep alive the spirit of the humanity and made possible the emergence of the New Sun celebration, which brings hope for a better world. This story inspired the artistic team of Vallarta Adventures to create Savia, the new production of their successful and magical show Rhythms of the Night.
The show takes place on a spectacular amphitheater located at Las Caletas beach, iconic film director John Huston’s favorite hideaway located on the Banderas Bay South Shore. Under the light of the moon and flaming torches, in the middle of the lush jungle, attendees enjoy a charming atmosphere surrounding the colorful stage, where a pyramid stands. For about one hour, the audience enjoys the performance of dancers, singers and acrobats who put together a show full of magic and excitement. Savia: The Legend of the Five Suns celebrates the 20th anniversary of Rhythms of the Night at Las Caletas.
Once the show ends, attendees enjoy a delicious dinner at one of the beachfront restaurants Vallarta Adventures offers at this secluded beach, a beautiful way to end the evening!
Savia: The Legend of the Five Suns is directed by Gilles Ste-Croix, a Canadian performing arts director who was one of the founders of the world-famous Cirque du Soleil in 1984. After serving as the company’s producer (1990 – 2000) and vice president for the creation and development of new projects, he moved to Mexico. He currently lives in the village San Pancho, north of Puerto Vallarta; where along with his wife, he founded El Circo de los Niños.
