The arrival of July fills us with joy and makes us want to go to the beach. The warm climate encourages us to dive into the fresh waters of the bay and enjoy relaxing afternoons by the sea, disconnecting from the daily routine.

Sayulita is one of Mexico’s “Magic Towns” and represents a good option to enjoy the sun, sand and sea this summer season thanks to its bohemian environment, different than Puerto Vallarta’s ambiance. This is the reason why we headed north of Banderas Bay and visited this town, looking forward to enjoying its attractions and looking for the perfect summer outfit at many of its local fashion boutiques. We present some pieces we liked thanks to their unique designs.

Summer must haves

We first stepped into Paez Sayulita (a boutique located on Revolución St.), where you’ll find cool, handcrafted t-shirts made by “someone” “somewhere.” Each piece features the name of its designer and its place of manufacture. Without a doubt, these are a must-have due to their prints, embroidery, vivid colors and Mexican art patterns. The store also offers caps, watches and sunglasses made of bambú and swimsuits.

On the same street, we visited an interesting, unnamed store, which is truly a hidden jewel. It features pieces by designers from Sayulita and San Pancho, as well as the clothing brands Fools and Laika. Some of the products available here are linen, cotton and manta pieces (both exclusive and formal), perfect for dining out or dancing at one of the charming bars in this Riviera Nayarit town.

Not far from there, you’ll find Boutique Manantial, founded by Argentinean designers who reside in Sayulita. It offers women’s chic, casual and lightweight dresses and pieces.

Accessories and footwear

Ser Humano Clothing and Jewelry features embroidered, denim bag and purses with colorful pom poms, which are distinctive of the Sayulita style. You’ll also find earrings and bracelets with geometric designs, masterfully matching any given summer outfit. Additionally, the store offers men’s sandals with multiple designs. Of course, we couldn’t miss a boho-chic hat for our outfit. After much looking, we found the one at Semillas boutique (see Gallery), located in Plaza Ágora. It is unisex and was made in León, Guanajuato. We love its embroidery and colors.

Bikinis

One of the most important pieces! We know you might prefer to purchase yours before your trip to Sayulita. We recommend two online shops with beautiful tropical prints: Made By Her Bikinis and Tropical Coco PV, which offer women’s swimwear on Instagram. In fact, Tropical Coco also offers blouses and beach outfits.

“When I first opened my gallery in 1986, my relationship with Vallarta Lifestyles started for the need of people to know me and, because it is one of the very few quality publications in the destination, I decided to advertise in it. There are clients that still remember me for the magazine, with whom I have had several years of relationship.”

"Vallarta Lifestyles is very similar to The Agency, we have a similar client base, [residents and tourists] who seek for information about the topics that are featured in each issue; lifestyle, restaurants, and architecture, among others. And, because the way your magazines are located, we can really capture the clients we want."

“Vallarta Lifestyles, from its inception has been a quality reference. In some way, it has managed to consolidate the destination because all our restaurants where there and we communicate as an exchange platform. The benefit, besides advertisement and recommendation, is that this publication is a solid copy of Puerto Vallarta’s evolution. If you pick up an old issue, immediately you’ll recall precious memories.”
