The Nado Seguro (safe swimming) Sixth Annual Open Water Swimming Competition will take place this Saturday, April 23, starting at 7:30 am at the Marina Riviera Nayarit at La Cruz de Huanacaxtle. The event has received enough participant application to reach its maximum number of competitors that can participate in the competition: 700.

The competition features 18 categories, including children, teens, masters, special needs and professional, for men and women. Its goal is to promote swimming at all levels, with comfortable challenges for 7 year-olds and up to swim 500 meters, and increasing distances to 1.25K and 2.5 K as they reach 14.

3K is the most popular category, with competitors ranging 15 – 70 years of age, including special needs competitors. The pro category is 5K with male and female divisions, regardless of age.

Organizer Belín Villasante is pleased with the way the event has established itself as a must-attend for swimmers around the country. “This year we will feature competitors from all over the country, along with the usually large contingency from Nayarit, Jalisco, Mexico City and Guanajuato.”

To make the event possible, Nado Seguro partners with local authorities to ensure that the event is safe for participants and spectators. For more information about the event, please visit aguasabiertasnadoseguro.com.

“In a meeting that we had with the magazine’s founder, he told us about his dream of making a quality and luxury publication because he was convinced that Puerto Vallarta needed that. For that reason, we have advertised in Vallarta Lifestyles since its beginnings. These days, our brand is very well positioned thanks to the strategic distribution of the magazine, as it helps us reach more potential customers which is a great benefit for us.”

“We have been clients of Vallarta Lifestyles since 1999, the year in which we arrived to this destination. Back then, it was the only publication where you could really do local marketing. These days, in spite of the arrival of new technologies, we keep advertising, because it is a really important complement for our marketing strategy.”

“There are lots of reasons why we have advertised in Vallarta Lifestyles for several years. One of them is that they know pretty well their target, because they know who are their readers and they adapt as much as possible the content and material that is offered. For these reasons they have a growing number of readers which is very important for us. Another reason is that many people  —including us— think that the magazine has been as a serious publication since its beginnings. Historically, Vallarta Lifestyles has known how to capture the audience and has done it pretty well."
