The Good Fortune Unicorn: The Combination of Art with the Belief in the Extraordinary
Along the Puerto Vallarta Malecón, one of the most enchanting sculptures is “The Good Fortune Unicorn”. This artwork exudes elegance and mystery, captivating residents and visitors alike since its placement on January 14th, 2011.
This masterpiece, three meters high and one and a half meters long, sculpted in bronze using the lost-wax technique by the talented artist Aníbal Riebeling, is inspired by ancient legends in which unicorns were symbols of good luck.
Born in Guadalajara in 1970, Riebeling has left an indelible mark on the art world with his creation. He has been interested in art since childhood, which led him to study Industrial Design at the University of Guadalajara.
The sculpture has attracted attention not only for its magnificent presence, but also for the legend that surrounds it. According to popular belief, those who touch the unicorn’s horn will be blessed with good fortune and prosperity.
In 2021, the base of the sculpture needed to be raised, not only to further highlight it but also to contribute to preserving its beauty.
The Good Fortune Unicorn is a powerful reminder of the magic that happens when art is combined with the belief in the extraordinary.
