According to Expedia, the online travel agency, both Puerto Vallarta and Riviera Nayarit are among the Mexican destinations that are most in demand for the upcoming winter season.

For this period, the most searched destinations are Cancún and the Riviera Maya, which represent no less than two-thirds of all searches in Mexico, followed by Los Cabos, Puerto Vallarta, Nuevo Vallarta, Riviera Nayarit, Mexico City and Baja California.

Expedia forecasts that for this winter the United States will continue to be the largest issuing market for Mexico, representing 75 percent of all searches. However, the company’s report highlighted that with the opening of borders and the lifting of travel restrictions, Canada is again the second-largest incoming market with a year-on-year growth of 115 percent.

In addition to the increase in the volume of American and Canadian tourists, Expedia also reported that although international travel restrictions eased around the world, making other destinations more accessible, Mexico registered a 45 percent increase in stays during the summer compared to 2019, plus hoteliers also saw growth in their average daily occupancy rates increase 30 percent from 2019, indicating higher demand.

Expedia concludes that travelers are also booking further in advance, as last-minute searches are down and more than 5 percent of travelers prefer to book 3 to 6 months in advance, compared to 2019 and 2021.

“Vallarta Lifestyles is really well positioned. We are aware of that because we have seen people who arrive to our jewelry with the issue or the advertising in hand asking about the product that is featured there. This dynamic is really interesting for us and makes us glad.”

“Vallarta Lifestyles has readers from Punta de Mita to Mismaloya and beyond, so announcing my business, means the positioning and recognition of my agency throughout the region. The contents of the magazine are very interesting, because they provide relevant information about activities in the destination. I am pleased to see it at hotels, restaurants and galleries, but what excites me the most is to see people with their issue in hand. That is really relevant for us.”

“Vallarta Lifestyles, from its inception has been a quality reference. In some way, it has managed to consolidate the destination because all our restaurants where there and we communicate as an exchange platform. The benefit, besides advertisement and recommendation, is that this publication is a solid copy of Puerto Vallarta’s evolution. If you pick up an old issue, immediately you’ll recall precious memories.”
