Riviera Nayarit is considered as one of the best places to visit if you are looking for a relaxing break. Having this in mind, we would like to offer some suggestions to help you enjoy your winter vacation.

You shouldn’t miss the winter season in Riviera Nayarit because, unlike other beach destinations, our so-called “cold” weather is relative. That said, while locals are piling on sweaters at 18°C (64°F), our visitors—mainly North Americans and Europeans—find a perfect temperature.

According to the U.S. National Weather Service, winter begins in the northern hemisphere on December 21st, 2022, with the Solstice and lasts 88 days. This gives you plenty of time to make plans to visit this destination. You will find it is the ideal place to enjoy an infinite number of water activities, including sailing, surfing, kite surfing, and fishing, plus outdoor activities such as hiking, mountain biking, and golf.

23 Coastal Micro-Destinations

There is also lots to do for those who prefer more leisurely activities, such as bird watching—in addition to endemic species, a significant number of migratory birds arrive in San Blas and San Pancho every year.

Meanwhile, experienced swimmers and divers can get up close and personal with the rich array of marine life—think whales and colorful fish—, and anyone can participate in a turtle hatchling release at one of the campsites located along the coast.

The Riviera Nayarit is home to multiple destinations (23 coastal towns), from the cosmopolitan Nuevo Vallarta and Punta de Mita, to more rustic towns like Lo de Marcos and San Blas. Each one has its own identity, activities, and events. We invite you to explore them one at a time!

There is something for every budget in the Riviera Nayarit, from 50 USD-a-night rooms to luxury villas facing the Pacific for 20,000 USD. And, in addition to their usual high standards, hotels welcome guests warmly.

For these and many other reasons, visiting the Riviera Nayarit will always be an excellent option.
