Young Career Initiative Continues to Support Local Youth
The students of the 2018 generation of Youth Career Initiative finished their training program on the touristic area, within some of the most prestigious hotels in Puerto Vallarta and Riviera Nayarit. For this reason, the coordinators of this initiative held a graduation ceremony at the Hyatt Ziva hotel, where the 25 graduates received their certificates.
Youth Career Initiative is an international project aimed at disadvantaged young people between 18 and 21 years of age, who get the opportunity to receive training for a period of 24 weeks within high-class resorts with the objective of increasing their employability and quality of life. Since 2007, this program operates in Banderas Bay with the support of non-profit organizations and private industry.
The event was attended by representatives of the various organizations that make up the initiative at the local level: Daniel Reyna, vice president of operations of Mexico Playa Hotels & Resorts; Claudia Castillo, director of human resources at Hotel Marriott Puerto Vallarta Resort & Spa; Armando Magaña from the The Westin Resort & Spa hotel; Brian Segrave, general manager of W Hotel Punta de Mita and James Hughes, general manager of The St. Regis Punta Mita. Authorities of the National System for the Integral Development of the Family (DIF) and Ali Elias, director of the civil association Peace Punta de Mita, were also present.
“All the companies and organizations that are participating in this program believe that it is important and necessary to support this cause. We need talented young people with dreams. I appreciate your generosity and I also congratulate the parents who have accompanied their children in this process,” said Armando Magaña.
