6th Edition of the DamaJuana Festival Announced
From March 17th to 19th, 2023, the esplanade of the Instituto Vallartense de Cultura will host the sixth edition of the DamaJuana Festival de la Raicilla, which on this occasion brings together 15 producers from Cabo Corrientes, Mascota, Mixtlán and Puerto Vallarta.
Some of the taverns participating are El Divisadero, La Fortuna, El Tío Luis, El Embrujo, Hermanos Harrison, Real Roque, La Jorobada, Los Tres Hombres and Los Topetes, among others.
During the DamaJuana Festival de la Raicilla there will be raicilla tastings at the various stands that will be set up, as well as the participation of a craft brewery and food stalls, as well as traditional mariachi music, singers and versatile bands. Admission will be free.
The traditional and artisan elaboration of the raicilla are elements that make it belong to the Jalisco’s cultural patrimony.
Granted by the Mexican Institute of Industrial Property (IMPI) in 2019, the General Declaration of Protection of the Raicilla Denomination of Origin includes the producing regions of the municipalities of Atengo, Atenguillo, Ayutla, Cabo Corrientes, Chiquilistlán, Cuautla, Guachinango, Huichitlán, Mascota, Mixtlán, Puerto Vallarta, San Sebastián del Oeste, Talpa de Allende, Tecolotlán, Tenamaxtlán and Tomatlán; as well as Bahía de Banderas in the state of Nayarit.
