A curious fact about this place is that its name comes from the Nahuatl language, Corrincan, which means “where water abounds.”

Our next destination takes us to San Sebastián del Oeste, Jalisco, where the imposing La Bufa Hill is located. About 70 kilometers from Puerto Vallarta, this hill is a perfect place for ecotourism and hiking enthusiasts. From the top, you can enjoy a spectacular panoramic view of the mountain landscapes and nearby towns. A curious fact about this place is that, weather permitting, you can clearly see the Banderas Bay from there.

Leaving the mountains behind, we return to Puerto Vallarta to explore Los Arcos National Marine Park. This paradise is just 15 minutes from Puerto Vallarta’s El Centro neighborhood and is formed by a series of rocky formations emerging from the Pacific Ocean. Here, diving and snorkeling enthusiasts will find an underwater world teeming with life, with reefs, tropical fish, and a great diversity of marine species. Additionally, Los Arcos de Mismaloya is a refuge for seabirds, and it is common to spot frigatebirds and blue-footed boobies.

Finally, we head to Riviera Nayarit to discover Islas Marietas National Park, a true natural treasure. These islands, located in front of Punta de Mita and approximately 30 kilometers from Puerto Vallarta, are known for their famous “Playa del Amor” (Beach of Love), a hidden beach inside a cave with an open roof that allows sunlight to filter in, creating a magical ambiance. Additionally, Islas Marietas National Park is home to a great diversity of marine species, including turtles, dolphins, and manta rays.
