Becas Vallarta, a non-profit Organization, in charge of obtaining funds in order to carry out a scholarship program for low income students in Puerto Vallarta, has announced their upcoming annual Becas Ball, to take place on Friday, March 4 at Club Regina in Marina Vallarta.

This year’s theme is Guelaguetza, making reference to the most representative festival in Oaxaca. Guelaguetza, in the Zapotec language, means to cooperate. It is attitude, an inborn quality, a feeling the Zapoteca people have in loving their neighbor, a feeling of fraternity, of sharing nature and life.

The festivities will commence with six pm with cocktails provided by the Four Seasons Hotel, Punta Mita. The dinner, under the direction of award-winning guest chef, Gerardo Sandoval, will be Oaxacan-themed. The evening´s entertainment will feature Oaxaca-style folkloric dances by the Xiutla Folkloric Dance Troupe, and live music for dancing by Odisea.

Many of this year´s becados—students that received scholarships—will be attending and will be introduced.  Also attending will be some of the former becados.

In addition to the exciting entertainment, there will be a silent auction featuring art, jewelry, a cooking class by local gourmet chef, Mavi Graf, hotel stays, green fees at Vista Vallarta and Libitu golf courses, and dinners at several fine local restaurants, including Café des Artistes, Kaiser Maximilian, Trio, Vitea, Sonora Grill, River Café and Benitos.

Tickets are 1,700 pesos per person. For further information and to purchase tickets, please contact:  Suzanne Erikson at 221 5599, Terry Prill at 221 5465, or Mariel or Carlos Fregoso at 221 0789. Learn more about Becas Vallarta visiting their website.

"Vallarta Lifestyles is very similar to The Agency, we have a similar client base, [residents and tourists] who seek for information about the topics that are featured in each issue; lifestyle, restaurants, and architecture, among others. And, because the way your magazines are located, we can really capture the clients we want."

“Vallarta Lifestyles has readers from Punta de Mita to Mismaloya and beyond, so announcing my business, means the positioning and recognition of my agency throughout the region. The contents of the magazine are very interesting, because they provide relevant information about activities in the destination. I am pleased to see it at hotels, restaurants and galleries, but what excites me the most is to see people with their issue in hand. That is really relevant for us.”

“Advertising in Vallarta Lifestyles is an easy and direct way to reach all of the visitors and new residents that arrive to the destination. Of the 30 years that the magazine has been in circulation, we have been advertising for 23 years and without any doubt, it has been worthy for the big positioning that we have achieved. Besides, the quality of contents its unique in this area.”
