It was November 23, 1996, that Biblioteca Los Mangos opened its doors to the public for the first time. Since its inception, the cultural center has endeavored to become Puerto Vallarta’s most important cultural institution through a variety of programs for children, teenagers and adults.

To celebrate this important landmark, Biblioteca Los Mangos has chosen the theme of “Gratitude” to say thanks to all those who have been part of the library’s history, and will be presenting three different events.

Performance by the Students at Los Arcos

Wednesday, November 30, 6 pm

This showcase will feature students from the following workshops:

Creative Dance (Instructor, Willie Guzmán)
Hip-Hop and Latin Rhythms (Instructor, Israel Andalón)
Classical Ballet and Tango (Instructor, Laura Britos)
Guitar (Instructor, Adanel Rubio)
Voice and Stage Expression (Instructor, Magda Martín)
Folkloric Dance (Instructor, Iván Lozano)

Piano and Voice Recital at Los Mangos

Friday, December 2, 7 pm

Adriana Martínez and Ann Lastfogel will perform four-hand piano music, and will be joined by soprano Genie Ceceña. Space is limited to 150 people. Suggested donation: $350 MXN per person.

Gratitude Dinner at Los Mangos

Saturday, December 3, 7 pm

This dinner allows Los Mangos to welcome its community and express gratitude. A three-course menu will be available, along with valet parking and entertainment. Expect a dance floor, a few surprises and much more. Space is limited to 300 people. Suggested donation: $890 MXN per person.

Unbeknownst to many, Biblioteca Los Mangos receives virtually no funding from local, state or federal government. The cultural center has persevered thanks to the many private donations received on a regular basis by founders, benefactors and local and international friends of the library who volunteer their time and expertise to put together a variety of fundraising events throughout the year. Teachers, parents and their children have followed suit in the latter years.

Tickets for the events are available at Biblioteca Los Mangos, Fco. Villa 1001, Col. Fraccionamiento Los Mangos (two blocks away from Costco), Monday-Friday 10am – 9 pm, and Saturdays 10 am 4 pm. Cash, card (credit and debit) and Pay Pal payments accepted. For more information please call (322) 224-9966, or visit Biblioteca Los Mangos on Facebook or their website.

“Since its beginnings and until today, the quality in photography and editorial design of Vallarta Lifestyles is unrivaled, because there’s nothing similar in this region of Mexico. Besides, to the foreign community that visit us, this magazine is essential if they want to know what’s new and what’s going on in our destination.”

“We have been advertising in Vallarta Lifestyles since the opening of our restaurant, and since then, we have kept a strong relationship. Due to its scope and distribution, the campaigns that we advertised regarding our different culinary projects have always been a success. This magazine has been consolidated as a benchmark that promotes the beauty of our destination in a creative and effective way.”

“There are lots of reasons why we have advertised in Vallarta Lifestyles for several years. One of them is that they know pretty well their target, because they know who are their readers and they adapt as much as possible the content and material that is offered. For these reasons they have a growing number of readers which is very important for us. Another reason is that many people  —including us— think that the magazine has been as a serious publication since its beginnings. Historically, Vallarta Lifestyles has known how to capture the audience and has done it pretty well."
