Corazón de Niña Foundation is celebrating one more year of its annual Poker Walk on March 20th, from noon – 4pm. The adult-only event is back by popular demand, as it was a smashing success last year.

Registration will begin at noon at Sticky Fingers Grill House, located at Marina del Rey L-93, where participants can pick up their “player cards” for a suggested donation of $100 pesos. The concept of the Poker Walk consists on a fun afternoon of “bar hopping” from bar to bar, where players will draw a card at each establishment to help make a five card poker hand. Participants are welcome to pick up as many playing cards as they like for $100 pesos each, for higher chances of winning.

The event is taking place across five Marina Vallarta bars and restaurants that are gracefully sponsoring the event. During the event, players move from Sticky Fingers to Mr. Dz’s Route 66 Diner, followed by Fajita Banana, Chappy’s Sports Bar, ending at Victor’s Place Cafe Tacuba.

All playing cards must be turned in at Victor’s by 4pm for winners to be selected. The winning five card poker hand will win the first prize of $5,000, the second $3,000 and third $2,000 pesos. Throughout the day they will have raffle draws, a 50-50 draw and bottle draws for fun and prizes. All proceeds of the event go directly to Corazón de Niña.

Corazón de Niña Foundation is a registered non-for-profit organization that provides a nurturing family environment for at-risk girls and boys of all ages. The organization has two homes, one for girls and one for boys, and is currently housing 23 girls 22 boys, 45 in total aged from 3 to 24 years old. Corazón de Niña is entirely dependent on its loyal supporters for funding.

“We are so incredibly grateful for all the people who continue to support Corazón de Niña, year after year,” said Melissa Canez, Co-Founder and President. “Our donors are the lifeblood of our foundation and without their support we wouldn’t be able to get through the costs of running a family of 45 during the slow season in Puerto Vallarta.”

The last event of the season for Corazón de Niña is the third annual Rockin’ Under the Stars event at Casa Karma Boutique Resort, which will take place on April 8th from 7:30-11pm. The restaurants donating canapés for the soirée are La Palapa, Vista Grill, Cafe des Artistes, No Way José!, Sapphire Ocean Club, Trio’s, Amadeo’s Bistro and Seasons PV. Entertainment for the night will be provided by Paul Fricassi, one of the Canadian Idol finalists. For ticket information please visit Corazón de Niña Facebook Page

“There are lots of reasons why we have advertised in Vallarta Lifestyles for several years. One of them is that they know pretty well their target, because they know who are their readers and they adapt as much as possible the content and material that is offered. For these reasons they have a growing number of readers which is very important for us. Another reason is that many people  —including us— think that the magazine has been as a serious publication since its beginnings. Historically, Vallarta Lifestyles has known how to capture the audience and has done it pretty well."

“One of the biggest benefits of advertising our business in Vallarta Lifestyles is the presence of our brand aimed to the audience we are looking for. It is a reliable and professional magazine that has helped us with the marketing of our restaurant several times, through well done photography or articles. We feel that we understand each other.”

Besides, to the foreign community that visit us, this magazine is essential if they want to know what’s new and what’s going on in our destination.”
