Highway Connecting La Cruz – Punta de Mita Now Open
Roberto Sandoval Castañeda, Governor of the State of Nayarit, officially opened the brand-new, four-lane highway connecting La Cruz de Huanacaxtle and Punta de Mita. The new road is wider and safer as it cuts through the hillside terrain, making it easier for both visitors and suppliers to reach the communities located at the northernmost point of Banderas Bay.
This project was designed to benefit citizens and visitors in Riviera Nayarit, as well as businesses around the area and the hospitality industry. The 7.2 km long road required a $300 million investment and has a holding capacity up to 20 thousand vehicles per day.
“We’d like extend our thanks and recognition to the State Government for this achievement as well as to the other authorities, developers, businesses and hoteliers who helped further this project, which greatly improves ground connectivity in the Riviera Nayarit,” said Fernando González Ortega, President of the Hotel and Motel Association of Banderas Bay.
For his part, Governor Sandoval emphasized it is a high-quality, toll-free highway which shortens considerably the travel time between both destinations, allowing people to reach easily two of the most visited towns in the Riviera Nayarit.
