With the objective to offer an inclusive mobility through the streets of Marina Vallarta, in September of 2019 the construction of various handicap ramps started, that now allow a more comfortable and safe displacement through this area.

To learn more details about this project, the editorial staff of Vallarta Lifestyles visited the Asociación de Residentes Marina Vallarta, A.C., to talk with Antonio García, administrator of this organization and the architect Alonso González, chief of supervision and maintenance, who took the initiative to start with this project.

“This idea started from the observation, because one day I saw how different neighbours were having mobility issues on Albatros street and to make things a little bit easier, so we decided to build some ramps. In a very short time we noticed that more people were using them and they felt grateful with this construction and I thought about implementing them all over the neighbourhood. Along with Antonio, we developed a strategy for the council members, who immediately gave their approval and granted us more resources”, shares González.

This project, which is planned to be completed in May 2020, will consist of a total of 90 handicap ramps distributed throughout Marina Vallarta, of which, there is currently a construction progress of 40 percent.

“We are working to make Marina Vallarta a model neighbourhood for all Puerto Vallarta and with the same approach, they may apply the same level of maintenance, care and adequacy of spaces. Our main objective is that people with disabilities have good connectivity, as well as for those who start to use alternative transportation”, concludes García.

"Since we started the company we have advertised in Vallarta Lifestyles, a publication that is considered ‘Puerto Vallarta’s Magazine’ by the quality of its images, content and staff, unique characteristics that encouraged us to say: ‘We have to be in Vallarta Lifestyles’. We know that this magazine is a reference for the target market that we are looking for and we know that being there gives us prestige.”

“We started to advertise 7 or 8 years ago and certainly it has helped us position our brand. Now that we have improved a lot in quality, processes and finished products, our marketing in the magazine is precisely to strengthen the leadership we have earned through the 13 years in the area. I also think that we also have grown with the advertisement and that it has been done and it has helped us get to where we are now.”

“Vallarta Lifestyles, from its inception has been a quality reference. In some way, it has managed to consolidate the destination because all our restaurants where there and we communicate as an exchange platform. The benefit, besides advertisement and recommendation, is that this publication is a solid copy of Puerto Vallarta’s evolution. If you pick up an old issue, immediately you’ll recall precious memories.”
