Once again, Puerto Vallarta’s Malecón was alive with celebration as the ideal stage for the unveiling of the monumental Catrina.

This Catrina is the centerpiece of the Day of the Dead festivities. It was designed by Alondra Muca, a young artist from Puerto Vallarta, who led a team involved in the preparation of this colossal structure made of metal and a fiberglass skeleton.

Located next to El Faro, this work of art made history for the first time in 2022 when it entered the hallowed pages of the Guinness World Records with an astonishing height of 22 meters and 64 centimeters.

This year, it reappears in a new guise, adorned with a gorgeous dress in dark tones and a striking hat crowning its majestic skull.
