Parasurf Clinic: Surfeando Sonrisas in Lo de Marcos

Founded in March 2018, Surfeando Sonrisas is a non-profit organization whose mission is to give People with Disabilities (PwD) the opportunity to experience the wonderful world of surfing and other water sports.

Surfeando Sonrisas has become a beacon of hope for those who often feel excluded from sports and outdoor activities due to their physical challenges. In an effort to improve the quality of life for children and teenagers with disabilities, the organization conducts free water sports clinics that give people with disabilities the opportunity to try or participate in water sports, regardless of their skill level or experience.

These clinics take place not only on the shores of Nayarit, but also on the beaches of Jalisco, Guerrero and Oaxaca. The primary goal of Surfeando Sonrisas is to promote an inclusive and nurturing environment where individuals can feel comfortable and free from prejudice and labels. With the motto #SúbeteALaOla (RideTheWave), the organization aims to empower people with disabilities through unique aquatic experiences that build their skills, confidence and self-esteem.

The next Parasurf Clinic is scheduled for Saturday, October 28th, 2023 on the beach in front of El Pequeño Paraíso · Bungalows & Trailer Park in Lo de Marcos, Riviera Nayarit. The event will begin at 9:00am and end at 2:00pm, providing an exhilarating opportunity for people with disabilities to ride the waves.

In this edition, in addition to Surfeando Sonrisas, the organizers include TRON X Extreme Sports School & Shop, XPLORE México, Lokal Surf Academy, Surf with Lola, and El Pequeño Paraíso · Bungalows & Trailer Park, who have joined forces to make this clinic an unforgettable event.
