Prepare Sneakers and Join a Colorful Race this Weekend
Whether you are an accomplished runner, a sport enthusiast or someone just seeking new, fun activities, the Color Running race may very well be the festive experience you have been waiting for!
The first edition of the Color Running Puerto Vallarta race will take place this Sunday, July 10, at 8:00 am at the Agustin Flores Contreras municipal sports stadium—located across from the Sheraton Hotel—and it promises to be an exciting, festive event people of all ages can join.
The race is 5K long and it follows the Recre-Active Way going from the municipal sport stadium to the Sunscape Resort and back. Along the route, five stations will be set, where runners will be doused with colorful powder. Once they cross the finish line, participants will be able to enjoy a celebration full of music, dance, colored smoke bombs, confetti and more multicolored powder. Hydration for runners will be provided by Powerade so you don’t have to worry about bringing your water bottle.
Even though it is a competition, the main goal of the race is to offer families, friends and athletes a fun alternative to promote sports and healthy activities, so it doesn’t matter how long you take to complete the route—you can even walk!—but enjoy the color powder rain throughout the run.
Color Running is an event organized by Riviera Nayarit Running and it is sponsored by local brands, such as Puerto de Luna, La Vaca Argentina, Bahía Alegre Cruise, Vallarta Fitness and Comex.

Important: The day before the race (July 9), participants must collect their running kit (t-shirt, sunglasses, medal and number sign) at the Running Riviera Nayarit office from 10 am to 7 pm.

Recommendations for runners
- Arrive at the venue at 7:30 am so you can be ready at the starting line on time.
- Wear good sunscreen
- Don’t forget your number sign the day of the event! Sponsor prizes will be raffled at the afterparty.
- We know you’ll want to capture your favorites moments, so it is highly advisable to bring your cellphone or camera with a protective dust wrap.
- After the event – Even though the color does mostly wash out of clothes, the sooner you do it the better.
