On April 30th, 2023, the 6th Surfcasting Vallarta Shore Fishing Tournament will take place, where national and international anglers will test their skills with the rod.

The competition will begin at 6:00am at Dorada Beach, better known as the Malecón beach. The weigh-in to announce the winners will take place at 1:00pm.

This event is organized by William Casillas and Sergio Gutiérrez, leaders of Surfcasting Vallarta, who seek to promote responsible and sustainable fishing through this competition.

It is worth mentioning that during the last edition of the tournament, the National Record of the Robalo Fish was obtained, with a weight of 11,760 kg. In addition, 340 fishermen participated, including competitors from the bay and Mexican states such as Nayarit, Aguascalientes, Michoacán, Colima and Sinaloa, as well as from the United States, Germany, France and Spain.

Finally, the prizes for those who catch the three heaviest fish will be 25,000 pesos for first place, second place will take 10,000 pesos and third place will win fishing equipment.

The cost of registration is 350 pesos per person, which includes participation in the “La Rifa del Salado”, a raffle of fishing and beach products awarded by the sponsors of the tournament.

“We started to advertise in Vallarta Lifestyles because since its beginnings and to date it keeps using modern technological equipment to produce it and it is possible to notice that in the quality of the magazine, which offers interesting topics about the life of our destination through its articles and interviews to well known personalities. Actually, I keep a collection in my personal library.”

“There are lots of reasons why we have advertised in Vallarta Lifestyles for several years. One of them is that they know pretty well their target, because they know who are their readers and they adapt as much as possible the content and material that is offered. For these reasons they have a growing number of readers which is very important for us. Another reason is that many people  —including us— think that the magazine has been as a serious publication since its beginnings. Historically, Vallarta Lifestyles has known how to capture the audience and has done it pretty well."

“Vallarta Lifestyles has readers from Punta de Mita to Mismaloya and beyond, so announcing my business, means the positioning and recognition of my agency throughout the region. The contents of the magazine are very interesting, because they provide relevant information about activities in the destination. I am pleased to see it at hotels, restaurants and galleries, but what excites me the most is to see people with their issue in hand. That is really relevant for us.”
