Hundreds of revelers from all walks of life marched, danced and otherwise promenaded three-kilometers in a wonderful menagerie of energy, song and whirling colors on Tuesday night. The Annual CarnavalPV Parade was a true celebration of life, energy and joy, providing an outlet of entertainment for residents and putting on an unforgettable show for visiting tourists. More than 35,000 spectators lined the picturesque route to enjoy the arsenal of glitter, feathers, paper mache, sequins, music and pageantry.

Paco’s Ranch a popular bar in the Emiliano Zapata neighborhood, captured top honors and the $5,000 peso cash prize for the most creative entry among the 60 parade entries that took part in the annual outing.    Linda’s Nails and Casa Karma Boutique Resort also received ‘honorable mention’ for their colorful floats.

Next year’s parade is slated for Tuesday, February 28, 2017.  In addition to the parade, 2017 activities will feature a pet parade, movie screenings, an art show, jazz and beer festival, and activities for kids. The events official website atwww.carnavalPV.com will be updated in the days ahead with photos, 2016 video and a list of those who participated on Tuesday.

Event organizers, Gary Green and Tim Longpre, wish to thank the volunteers, participants, spectators, Puerto Vallarta Tourism Department, Police, Transit Police and the Fire Department for their support.

“We have a close relationship with Vallarta Lifestyles. Since it beginnings, it has been the most important media for the touristic promotion of our destination. Its content has always been excellent, due to the quality of its articles and spectacular photos. For the type of readers that it reaches, this the ideal publication to advertise our listings.”

“When I first opened my gallery in 1986, my relationship with Vallarta Lifestyles started for the need of people to know me and, because it is one of the very few quality publications in the destination, I decided to advertise in it. There are clients that still remember me for the magazine, with whom I have had several years of relationship.”

“One of the biggest benefits of advertising in Vallarta Lifestyles is that a lot of readers keep it as a bible. People have arrived to our gallery looking for the pieces that are in the advertisements published 5 or 6 years ago, and that’s really valuable for us. Besides being an excellent magazine where is possible to find the newest in the destination, it is a publication dedicated to the public we want to reach and keep.”
