Puerto Vallarta Leads Mexico’s Tourism Recovery of Beach Destinations

In Mexico, beach destinations are leading the tourism recovery. Among them, Puerto Vallarta stands out due to the hotel occupancy registered.

According to data from the Ministry of Tourism’s Datatur system, the Puerto Vallarta hotel occupancy was 47.9 percent during March 2021 (Easter holidays). Currently, 66 percent is the maximum occupancy a Jalisco hotel can have.

In addition to this, the company STR (specialist in tourism and real estate data) ranked Puerto Vallarta as the destination with the best tourism performance in Mexico during the same month.

Traveler’s confidence in Puerto Vallarta is supported by the implementation of biosafety protocols, a strategy that is contributing to the tourism recovery.

In a recent survey carried out by the Public Trust for the Promotion and Tourism Advertising of Puerto Vallarta, it is indicated that most of the hoteliers report a constant increase in bookings for June to August 2021, which are expected to exceed the 55 percent.

On the other hand, the Puerto Vallarta International Airport received 1,577 flights during April 2021.
