The 1st Annual Puerto Vallarta Mango Festival, an event that will celebrate the mango -the king of tropical fruits-, will be held this Saturday, July 1, at Plaza Lazaro Cardenas from 4:00pm to 9:00pm.

Attendees will enjoy various dishes of mangoes provided by local restaurants and vendors, as well as music and entertainment, starting at 4:00pm with the Huicholes Family (Native Folklore), followed by Doris Jauregui (Soft Latin Music) at 5pm, Los polvitos (youth Mariachi) at 6:00pm, Xiutla Folkloric Ballet at 7:00pm and Tequila Rush (Classic Rock) at 8:00pm.

The goal of this Mango Festival in Puerto Vallarta is to heighten the appreciation for what can be done with mangoes, like delicious dishes and desserts. The Mexican mango season starts in the spring and lasts until the beginning of September.

Participating sponsors include Bar La Playa, El Torito, India Gate, La Nieveria, La Saranderia, Mango’s Beach Club, Mar y Tierra, Mariscos Tino’s, Mr. Boli, Muelle 7, Murphy’s Irish Pub, Nacho Daddy, Pajaritos, PV Cupcakes, Rey Del Aguachile, Sapori di Sicilia, Taberna Los 3 Hombres, Vallarta Botanical Garden and Veggie Table.

The festival is sponsored by the Jay Sadler Project with the support of Highland Park, Illinois, Sister Cities Foundation, StratosMedia, The Municipal of Puerto Vallarta, DIF, Culture and Tourism Department. “Without doubt, Vallarta Lifestyles is the best positioned Magazine in the region. Its solid presence keeps a strong and always fresh vision about the destination, as well as activities. Besides, I consider it a great intellectual contribution for the well written articles that are in each issue.”

“We started to advertise 7 or 8 years ago and certainly it has helped us position our brand. Now that we have improved a lot in quality, processes and finished products, our marketing in the magazine is precisely to strengthen the leadership we have earned through the 13 years in the area. I also think that we also have grown with the advertisement and that it has been done and it has helped us get to where we are now.”
