From July 21 – 24, Puerto Vallarta will host the Pacific Alliance summit, an event that will be attended by current Mexican president, Enrique Peña Nieto and the virtual president-elect, Andrés Manuel López Obrador. The latter confirmed attendance to the summit after a meeting with the head of state at the National Palace and after beating his opponents on this past Sunday’s elections, with 53 % of the votes.

The Pacific Alliance is an economic bloc created in 2011, after the Lima Declaration, when the then president of Peru, Alan García, encouraged his counterparts from México, Chile and Colombia consolidate and strengthen trade links. Peña Nieto and Obrador will gather with the leaders of the aforementioned nations to discuss economic and development policies.

The summit will also be attended by representatives of the countries that form the Mercosur (Southern Common Market): Argentina, Brasil, Uruguay and Paraguay.

“There are lots of reasons why we have advertised in Vallarta Lifestyles for several years. One of them is that they know pretty well their target, because they know who are their readers and they adapt as much as possible the content and material that is offered. For these reasons they have a growing number of readers which is very important for us. Another reason is that many people  —including us— think that the magazine has been as a serious publication since its beginnings. Historically, Vallarta Lifestyles has known how to capture the audience and has done it pretty well."
