The Puerto Vallarta International Airport, operated by Grupo Aeroportuario del Pacífico (GAP), closed 2024 with a historic milestone: 6.8 million passengers. This result reaffirms the city’s position as an essential destination for both international and domestic tourism.

Annual Performance and Growth Dynamics
Throughout the year, Puerto Vallarta recorded 2.84 million passengers on domestic flights, slightly below the previous year (-0.6 percent). However, the international segment maintained its momentum, totaling 3.96 million passengers, representing a 0.9 percent increase. This positive balance reflects the international travelers’ preference for the region’s beaches, climate, and exceptional hospitality.

December Highlights
In the final month of 2024, the airport registered 685,500 passengers, a slight decrease of 1.8 percent compared to December 2023. Nevertheless, the hotel occupancy rate reached an impressive 85.5 percent, surpassing the previous year’s 80.4 percent, highlighting improved flight management efficiency.

Looking to the Future
With this solid foundation, the Puerto Vallarta International Airport is poised for a 2025 full of opportunities, further cementing its role as the gateway to a region that blends luxury, nature, and warm hospitality.
