It’s hot out there, and in Puerto Vallarta, this means finding comfortable public places to find shelter from the heat becomes a top priority for most visitors and locals, particularly that do not enjoy the benefit of air conditioning wherever we may be. There are a number of restaurants, shopping centers and movie theaters that are ideal for a temporary respite, and many folks (particularly those of us that live here year-around) have a few choice locations that we love to enjoy when the weather is particularly challenging. If casual conversation, reading or private time is what you are looking for, we share a few locations in Puerto Vallarta’s El Centro neighborhood and one in Bucerias that you may wish to consider, if you are out and about. We enjoy them because they are comfortable, cool, and they offer wireless internet access.

Cafe Co-Exist

This comfortable location within the Hotel Río Malecón Vallarta features a casual restaurant bar with comfortable seating areas. It is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner, and its closeness to Puerto Vallarta’s Malecón makes it an ideal place for those spending in this part of the bay. Feel free to explore their menu by visiting their bilingual website.

Naval Historic Museum

Conveniently located right next to the Los Arcos Amphitheater in Puerto Vallarta’s scenic Malecón, this cultural attraction features their own gift/coffee shop on the main level, and access to it is free. That said, you may want to consider spending the $45 peso (less than $3 US) admission fee to learn a bit of Mexico’s maritime history, in air-conditioned comfort. Just about all the installations within the museum feature English and Spanish descriptions, making it very visitor friendly.

Esquina 22 Bar-Lounge-Gastropub

Should you find yourself in, or near Bucerias in Riviera Nayarit, this comfortable neighborhood establishment will keep you nice and cool while you enjoy a cocktail with friends, or their varied menu, with special offers available on a daily basis. Open Monday – Saturday, 3 – 11 pm.

Strictly (but casual) Business at Vallarta Co-Work

If food or beverages are not essential and you find yourself in Puerto Vallarta, Vallarta Co-Work (http://vallartacowork.com) offers fast internet, icy-cold air conditioning, and a kick-ass community of local and international professionals and entrepreneurs that choose to use a temporary office space to conduct their work, meetings and so forth. They offer a free day pass for first-timers, and subsequent use of their facilities, for daily or ongoing use, is less expensive than you think. And their location on Morelos St., right next to the parking lot at the Rio Cuale Pedestrian Bridge is ideal for folks in town.

"Since we started the company we have advertised in Vallarta Lifestyles, a publication that is considered ‘Puerto Vallarta’s Magazine’ by the quality of its images, content and staff, unique characteristics that encouraged us to say: ‘We have to be in Vallarta Lifestyles’. We know that this magazine is a reference for the target market that we are looking for and we know that being there gives us prestige.”

“There are lots of reasons why we have advertised in Vallarta Lifestyles for several years. One of them is that they know pretty well their target, because they know who are their readers and they adapt as much as possible the content and material that is offered. For these reasons they have a growing number of readers which is very important for us. Another reason is that many people  —including us— think that the magazine has been as a serious publication since its beginnings. Historically, Vallarta Lifestyles has known how to capture the audience and has done it pretty well."
Silvia Elias
Director

“We have a close relationship with Vallarta Lifestyles. Since it beginnings, it has been the most important media for the touristic promotion of our destination. Its content has always been excellent, due to the quality of its articles and spectacular photos. For the type of readers that it reaches, this the ideal publication to advertise our listings.”
