River of Arte This Weekend in Puerto Vallarta
What started modestly up the Rio Cuale five years ago is now one of Puerto Vallarta’s most sought after outdoor art show. On Sunday, December 4, over 60 of the region’s most talented artists will be exhibiting their works at Oscar’s Restaurant on Isla Rio Cuale. “Each year the River of Arte event has grown and this year’s will be better than ever,” says Carolina Archer, committee chair and event founder.
Admission is free, with proceeds from art, food and silent auction sales to benefit the Puerto Vallarta’s Colina Spay and Neuter Clinic.
Staffed by volunteers and funded by donations, the clinic provides free sterilization for pets and street animals, helping to prevent unnecessary suffering of unwanted animals and keeping Puerto Vallarta’s streets clear of strays.
Guests at River of Arte 2016 can expect to enjoy an elegant afternoon of art, local entertainment highlighting Mexican culture, wonderful refreshments from Oscar’s, raffles, and a silent auction of great gifts donated by Puerto Vallarta’s most generous local merchants.
Entertainers include:
- Brittany Kingery, a tropical folk rock singer and recording artist of Puerto Vallarta Act II fame who just returned from a six-month U.S. tour
- Los Bailadores del Jorullo, a traditional dance troupe
- Los Polvitos de Jalisco, a Mariachi group
River of Arte is this Sunday, December 4, from Noon to 5 pm at Oscar’s Restaurant on Isla Rio Cuale. Admission is free for all.
